When creating a managed task, the Task Builder is opened via the Task Administrator However, you can also open Task Builder directly and open task files directly from Task Builder. When opening a task file in this manner, you will be working only with the task steps. No other properties will be associated with the task (i.e. triggers, logon properties). This is called an External Task.
Select a task and click the Steps button on the toolbar or right-click the task and select Steps from the right-click menu.
To open Task Builder from Windows Start:
Click the Windows Start button, point to Programs or All Programs, double-click the AutoMate directory and select AutoMate Task Builder.
Click the button .
On the File menu, select Exit.
NOTE: If changes were made, a dialog will appear prompting whether to save changes.
Click Save and Close from the toolbar or select File -> Save and Close.
In the Task Builder window, click the Open button, navigate to the task and click Open.
With the task visible in the Steps pane, click the Close button at the top right corner of the Steps pane.
On the File
menu, click Close All.
NOTE: You will be prompted to save changes for any tasks that have been modified.
