Exporting Tasks

You can export a task from the AutoMate 7 Task Administrator and save them to a file with a .AML (Automate Markup Language) extension. This file can be imported and used in another AutoMate 7 installation that may reside on a separate machine. Tasks can be exported via "drag and drop" method or by the use of the Export option.

Exporting Tasks Using Drag and Drop Method

Instructions to export tasks using "drag and drop" are as follows:

 

  1. Open the Task Administrator.

  2. In the Managed Tasks pane of the Task Administrator, select the task(s) you want to export (hold down the CTRL key to select more than one task).

  3. Simply drag the highlighted items to the desktop or any desired folder.

  4. The file(s) is then saved with a .AML extension.

Exporting Tasks Using Export Option

Instructions to export tasks using the Export option are as follows:

 

  1. Open the Task Administrator.

  1. In the Managed Tasks pane of the Task Administrator, select the task(s) you want to export (hold down the CTRL key to select more than one task).

  2. On the File menu, click Export or right-click the desired task and select Export from the right-click menu. A dialog titled Export Task appears as shown below:

  1. More than one task can be selected by holding down the CTRL key during selection. When exporting more than one task, a dialog titled Browse for Folder appears instead, as shown below:

  1. Navigate to the folder where you want to place the task file(s) and click Save.

  2. The file(s) is then saved with a .AML extension.
