Setting a Process Trigger

Overview

The Process trigger is used to trigger a task when a particular process starts or ends, or when it stops responding. Additional technical information about this trigger can be found here.

To Set a Process Trigger:

  1. Open the Process trigger properties dialog box (as shown above) per Setting Triggers.

  2. In the Wait for process to box, select whether Stop responding, Start or End.

  3. In the Process name box, select the process. Wildcard characters * and ? are accepted in this parameter.

  4. If you want the trigger to activate if the condition is met upon startup, click the Behavior tab and enable the option Trigger on startup if condition is true.

  5. If you want the condition to be met more than once before the task is triggered, enable the option Trigger after the condition has been met and select the desired amount.

  6. Click OK to save changes and close the properties dialog box.
