Sign XML Document Action—Setting Properties

The Sign XML Document action signs an XML file with specified key. Signing an XML file provides a means of verification that the file has not be modified.  Use the Verify XML action to verify a previously signed XML file.

To set Sign XML Document properties

  1. From the Task Builder Available Actions pane, open the XML folder and double-click the Sign XML Document action or drag it into the Steps pane. The following dialog appears:

  1. Select from the Sign using dropdown. The options are:

  1. If you select the Key Container option, enter the user name of the new key container. Click the Select Key Container button to browse to current key containers.

  2. Select a level from the Key container level box, either User or Machine.

  3. If you select the Key File option, enter the Keypair filename in the field provided. Click the Expression Builder or Folder icons to use the Expression Builder or to browse to a file.

  4. Enter the password of the keypair filename.

  5. Enter the session name in the Session name field.

  6. To set the Description tab properties, refer to Description Tab Options.

  7. To set the Error Causes and On Error tab properties, refer to Step Error Handling.

  8. When finished, click OK to save settings and close the properties dialog window.
