Edit XML Node Action - Setting Properties

The Edit XML Node action is used to change the value of a node in an XML document, or optionally to change the value of a specified attribute. You enter an XPath expression to specify the location of the node.

To set Edit XML Node properties

  1. From the Task Builder Available Actions pane, open the XML folder and double-click the Edit XML Node action or drag it into the Steps pane.

  2. In the File box, click the Open Folder button , navigate to the desired document, and click Open.

  3. In the XPath expression box, enter the expression to specify the location of the node.

  4. If you want to edit an attribute, enter its name in the Attribute box.

  5. In the Value box, enter the new value for the node or for the attribute as applicable.

  6. To set the Description tab properties, refer to Description Tab Options.

  7. To set the Error Causes and On Error tab properties, refer to Step Error Handling.

  8. When finished, click OK to save settings and close the properties dialog window.
