The Read Timer action is used to read the value of a timer previously started in an established session and populates the specified variable with the value. This is all performed without stopping the timer.
From the Task Builder Available Actions pane, open the Timer folder and double-click the Stop Timer or Read Timer action or drag the action into the Steps pane. The following dialog appears:
In the General tab under the Timer name field, enter the session name. If your task has only one timer session and you did not change the default session name when you created it (recommended), you can use the default entry (default timer name is TimerSession1).
In the Populate variable with elapsed time field, select the variable to populate.
In the Time scale field, select hours, minutes, seconds, or milliseconds.
To set the Description tab properties, please refer to Description Tab Options.
To set the Error Causes and On Error tab properties, please refer to Step Error Handling.
When finished, click OK to save settings.
