Send Terminal Text Action—Setting Properties

The Send Terminal Text action is used to send text to a terminal at the current cursor position. A terminal session must be started in an earlier step using the Connect Terminal action. Terminal actions are used to automate legacy systems without the use of terminal emulation software.

To set Send Terminal Text properties

  1. From the Task Builder Available Actions pane, open the Terminal folder and double-click the Send Terminal Text action or drag it into the Steps pane.

  2. In the Text box, enter the text to be sent.

  3. In the Session name box, enter the session name. If your task has only one terminal session and you did not change the default session name when you created it (recommended), you can use the default entry.

  4. In the Wait for default prompt box, select the desired operation. The default prompt is the prompt used by the terminal to indicate it is ready for input.

  5. To set the Description tab properties, refer to Description Tab Options.

  6. To set the Error Causes and On Error tab properties, refer to Step Error Handling.

  7. When finished, click OK to save settings and close the properties dialog window.
