Display Action—Setting Properties

The Display action is used to reset the resolution and/or color depth settings on the specified display device.

To set Display properties

  1. From the Task Builder Available Actions pane, open the System folder and double-click the Display action or drag it into the Steps pane.

  2. In the Display device box, select the device you want to change.

  3. Use the drop-down lists to select the color depth and frequency. Supported frequencies will be displayed on the drop-down list. Do not enter non-supported frequencies as this could damage your monitor.

  4. Drag the slider to set the screen resolution. Width and Height will be shown in pixels in the boxes below.

  5. When you have made your selections, click Test chosen display settings.

This tests the selected settings and displays the result. If the settings are compatible with your system, a message displays allowing you to confirm or reject the change.

  6. To set the Description tab properties, refer to Description Tab Options.

  7. To set the Error Causes and On Error tab properties, refer to Step Error Handling.

  8. When finished, click OK to save settings and close the properties dialog window.
