Start Service Action—Setting Properties

The Start Service action is used to start a service on Windows NT or on Windows 2000 or later. Services do not run on Windows 95, 98, or ME.

To set Start Service properties

  1. From the Task Builder Available Actions pane, open the Services folder and double-click the Start Service action or drag it into the Steps pane.

  2. In the Service to start box, select the service to start.

  3. To include device and file system drivers, click the check box.

  4. To set the Description tab properties, refer to Description Tab Options.

  5. To set the Error Causes and On Error tab properties, refer to Step Error Handling.

  6. When finished, click OK to save settings and close the properties dialog window.
