Remove Service Action—Setting Properties

The Remove Service action is used to remove a service from the Service Control Manager (SCM). Once a service is removed it can no longer be started and stopped by the SCM. This action usually requires administrator privileges to run.

To set Remove Service properties

  1. From the Task Builder Available Actions pane, open the Services folder and double-click the Remove Service action or drag it into the Steps pane.

  2. In the Service to remove box, select the service to remove.

  3. To include device and file system drivers, select the Include device and file system drivers check box.

    : Do not include device and file system drivers unless you are familiar with them and fully understand what the result will be.

  4. To set the Description tab properties, refer to Description Tab Options.

  5. To set the Error Causes and On Error tab properties, refer to Step Error Handling.

  6. When finished, click OK to save settings and close the properties dialog window.
