Play Audio Action—Setting Properties

The Play Audio action is used to play one or more WAV, MP3, .AU or other media player supported audio files.

To set Play Audio properties

  1. From the Task Builder Available Actions pane, open the Multimedia folder and double-click the Play Audio action or drag it into the Steps pane.

  2. In the Audio files to play box, enter the path and file name for the file to play, or click the Open folder button and navigate to the file. To play multiple files, you can use wildcard characters asterisk (*) or question mark (?) or use a pipe symbol (|) to separate different file names within a folder. Examples: C:\MyMediaFiles\*.MP3
    or
    C:\Windows\Media\FirstWaveFile.WAV|SecondWaveFile.WAV

  3. To test the files entered, click the Play button . To stop play, click the Stop button .

  4. To set the Description tab properties, refer to Description Tab Options.

  5. To set the Error Causes and On Error tab properties, refer to Step Error Handling.

  6. When finished, click OK to save settings and close the properties dialog window.
