Calculate File Checksum Action—Setting Properties

The Calculate File Checksum action uses a selected algorithm to calculate the checksum of a specified file and populate a variable with the result. The variable must be created in an earlier step using the Create Variable action.

To set Calculate File Checksum properties

  1. From the Task Builder Available Actions pane, open the folder and double-click the Calculate File Checksum action or drag it into the Steps pane. The following properties dialog appears:

  1. Click the Open Folder button , and navigate to the file.

  2. In the Algorithm box, select the algorithm. The list is arranged from fastest/least-secure to slowest/most-secure.

  3. In the Populate variable with the checksum box, select the variable to populate.

  4. To set the Description tab properties, refer to Description Tab Options.

  5. To set the Error Causes and On Error tab properties, refer to Step Error Handling.

  6. When finished, click OK to save settings and close the properties dialog window.
