Rename Folder Action—Setting Properties

The Rename Folder Action is used to change the name of a folder.

To set Rename Folder properties

  1. From the Task Builder Available Actions pane, open the File folder and double-click the Rename Folder action or drag it into the Steps pane. The following dialog appears:

  1. In the Original folder name box, enter the path and folder name for the folder you want to rename. Alternately you can click the Open Folder button , navigate to the folder, and click OK.

  2. In the New folder name box, enter the new path and folder name. (You do not have to keep the renamed folder in its original location.)

  3. To populate a dataset with the result, enter a name for the dataset in the Create and populate dataset with result information box. (Dataset names must be alphanumeric, begin with a letter, and contain no spaces.)

    The dataset fields will be Source, Destination, Result, and Message. The Result field returns 0 for success or a Windows error code for failure. The Message field provides textual information about the result.

  4. To set the Description tab properties, refer to Description Tab Options.

  5. To set the Error Causes and On Error tab properties, refer to Step Error Handling.

  6. When finished, click OK to save settings and close the properties dialog window.
