The Dataset to Cells action is used to populate cells in an Excel worksheet with the data from a dataset. The worksheet must be open in an existing Excel session that was created in an earlier step using an Open Workbook or Create Workbook action. Also the dataset must be created in an earlier step using an action such as SQL Query.
Note: You must have Microsoft Excel licensed and installed on your system to use any of the AutoMate Excel actions.
From the Task Builder Available Actions pane, open the Excel folder and double-click the Dataset to Cells action or drag it into the Steps pane.
In the Session name box, enter the session name. If your task has only one Excel session and you did not change the default session name when you created it (recommended), you can use the default entry.
In the Dataset box, select the dataset.
To indicate the position in the worksheet where the
data is to be placed, enter the row and column number for the upper left
cell in the Row and Column
To select the position by Excel reference (such as A1 or B5), click Upper left cell by reference and enter the reference in the Cell reference box.
To use a worksheet other than the currently active one, click Use specific worksheet and enter the worksheet name in the corresponding box.
To include column names, click Include column names. If this is not selected, only the data rows will be copied.
To set the Description tab properties, refer to Description Tab Options.
To set the Error Causes and On Error tab properties, refer to Step Error Handling.
When finished, click OK to save settings and close the properties dialog window.
