Close Workbook Action—Setting Properties

The Close Workbook action is used to close and save an Excel workbook that was opened in an AutoMate Excel session. If this action is not used the workbook is not saved.

Note: You must have Microsoft Excel licensed and installed on your system to use any of the AutoMate Excel actions.

To set Close Workbook properties

  1. From the Task Builder Available Actions pane, open the Excel folder and double-click the Close Workbook action or drag it into the Steps pane.

  2. In the Session name box, enter the session name. If your task has only one Excel session and you did not change the default session name when you created it (recommended), you can use the default entry.

  3. If you want to close the workbook without saving any changes, click Do not save changes.

  4. To set the Description tab properties, refer to Description Tab Options.

  5. To set the Error Causes and On Error tab properties, refer to Step Error Handling.

  6. When finished, click OK to save settings and close the properties dialog window.
