Set Environment Variable Action—Setting Properties

The Set Environment Variable action is used to set the value of an environment variable, or to create a new environment variable and set its value.

To enter Set Environment Variable properties

  1. From the Task Builder Available Actions pane, open the Environment Variables folder and double-click the Set Environment Variable action or drag it into the Steps pane.

  2. In the Environment variable name box enter the name.

  3. In the Environment variable scope box, select User, Machine, or Process.

  4. In the New Value box enter the value for the environment variable.

  5. If you are creating a new environment variable, select Create environment variable only if it does not exist.

  6. To set the Description tab properties, refer to Description Tab Options.

  7. To set the Error Causes and On Error tab properties, refer to Step Error Handling.

  8. When finished, click OK to save settings and close the properties dialog window.
