Append Environment Variable Action—Setting Properties

The Append Environment Variable action is used to append text to the value of an environment variable and populate an AutoMate variable with the result. The AutoMate variable must be created in an earlier step using the Create Variable action.

To set Append Environment Variable properties

  1. From the Task Builder Available Actions pane, open the Environment Variables folder and double-click the Append Environment Variable action or drag it into the Steps pane.

  2. In the Environment variable name box enter the name.

  3. In the Environment variable scope box, select User, Machine, or Process.

  4. In the Text to append box, enter the text to add to the environment variable value.

  5. In the Populate variable with the value box, select the variable to populate.

  6. To set the Description tab properties, refer to Description Tab Options.

  7. To set the Error Causes and On Error tab properties, refer to Step Error Handling.

  8. When finished, click OK to save settings and close the properties dialog window.
