Enable/Disable Task Action—Setting Properties

The Enable/Disable Task action is used to enable or disable any managed task. This is commonly used to prevent certain tasks from running simultaneously. For example, you could create a step at the beginning of a task to disable another task you do not want to run concurrently. Then place another step at the end to re-enable that task.

To set Enable/Disable Task properties

  1. From the Task Builder Available Actions pane, open the AutoMate folder and double-click the Enable/Disable Task action or drag it into the Steps pane. The following dialog box appears:

  1. Under Action, select Enable or Disable.

  2. In the Managed task box, select the task to enable or disable.

  3. If security settings for the task require a password to modify it, enter the password in the Password to use if task is protected from being modified box.

  4. To set the Description tab properties, refer to Description Tab Options.

  5. To set the Error Causes and On Error tab properties, refer to Step Error Handling.

  6. When finished, click OK to save settings.
