List AD Object Paths Action - Setting Properties

The List AD Object Paths action retrieves a list of the paths of all the Active Directory objects (e.g. computers, users, groups, etc.) at and below the specified path. These paths are then placed into the specified dataset.  Results can be filtered by object type and/or a filter string.

To set the List AD Object Paths Properties

  1. From the Task Builder Available Actions pane, open the Active Directory folder and double-click the List AD Object Paths action or drag it into the Steps pane. The following dialog box appears:

  1. Select a method for retrieving the AD object from the Get Active Directory object using dropdown.

  2. In the Parent Path field, enter the LDAP pathname.

  3. Click the Select Container button to navigate to a container.

  4. Select the type of AD object from the Object dropdown.

  5. Enter the type of filter to use in the Filter field.

  6. In the Create and populate dataset with paths, enter the dataset name.

  7. Click the Credentials tab.

  8. Enter a username and password in their respective fields.

  9. To set the Description tab properties, refer to Description Tab Options.

  10. To set the Error Causes and On Error tab properties, refer to Step Error Handling.

  11. When finished, click OK to save settings.
