Get AD Object Path Action - Setting Properties

The Get AD Object Path action populates an AutoMate BPA Server 7 variable with the LDAP path of the specified Active Directory object (e.g. user, computer, printer, etc.).

To set the Get AD Object Path Properties:

  1. From the Task Builder Available Actions pane, open the Active Directory folder and double-click the Get AD Object Path action or drag it into the Steps pane. The following dialog box appears:

  1. In the Parent path field, enter the LDAP pathname.

  2. Click the Select Container button to navigate to a container.

  3. In the Name field, enter the name of the object.

  4. In the Type field, select the type of object you want to use.

  5. In the Populate variable with path, enter the name of the variable you want to populate with pathname from the Parent path field.

  6. Click the Credentials tab.

  7. Enter a username and password in their respective fields.

  8. To set the Description tab properties, refer to Description Tab Options.

  9. To set the Error Causes and On Error tab properties, refer to Step Error Handling.

  10. When finished, click OK to save settings.
