AD Object to Dataset Action—Setting Properties

The AD Object to Dataset action creates a dataset that contains all the properties of the specified Active Directory object (e.g. user, group, computer, etc.)  Each property of the object becomes a column of the dataset, with the first row value containing the property value.

To set the AD Object to Dataset action's properties:

  1. From the Task Builder Available Actions pane, open the Active Directory folder and double-click the AD Object to Dataset action or drag it into the Steps pane. The following dialog box appears:

  1. In the General tab under the Path field, enter the pathname.

  2. Click the Select Object button to select and active directory object.

  3. Click the Select Container button to navigate to a container.

  4. Enter a dataset name in the Create and populate dataset field.

  5. Click the Credentials tab.

  6. To set the Description tab properties, refer to Description Tab Options.

  7. To set the Error Causes and On Error tab properties, refer to Step Error Handling.

  8. When finished, click OK to save settings.
