Actions are the programmed operations that are available in AutoMate for creating the steps of a task. You could think of them as templates for task steps. A task consists of a series of steps that you put together to accomplish something. You use actions to create the steps that do the work of a task.
You build steps into a task using the Task Builder, which has 230+ available actions categorized into folders. Available actions include starting applications, sending keystrokes, clicking controls, uploading files, and much more. These actions can be further expanded by the use of variables , constants, and expressions.
In the Task Builder Available Actions pane, you can view all available actions. For a complete alphabetical list of actions, see Available Actions.
You build a task by dragging actions from the Available Actions list into the Steps pane of the Task Builder window. For more information, see Adding Task Steps.
