The Add Task wizard helps guide you through the steps of creating a task. However, once you have created a few tasks, you may find it faster to bypass the wizard.
Ensure the Add Task wizard is inactive, by doing one of the following:
From Task Administrator, click the New button located in the tool-bar. This should start the Add Task Wizard.
In the "Welcome to AutoMate" screen, simply add a check to the option In the future, do not use this wizard (shown below), then click Cancel to close the Wizard.
Or, on the Task Administrator System menu, click Options.
In the General tab of the Options dialog, clear the Use wizard when creating new tasks box (shown below) then click OK.
On the Task Administrator tool-bar, click New (circled below). A new task icon appears.
Type a unique name for the task.
To add a trigger or set other properties for the new task, select the task and click the Properties tool-bar button or right-click the task and select Properties from the right-click menu. For more information see Setting Task Properties. After setting task properties, steps can be added by selecting the General tab and clicking the Edit Steps button.
To directly add steps to the task and bypass adding a trigger and setting task properties, select the task and click the Steps tool-bar button or right-click the task and select Steps from the right-click menu.
Once in the Task Builder add the steps of the task.
Click Update and Close.
Click OK to close the Task Properties dialog box.
