How long have you been with Network Automation?

Over a year but it feels like I have been working here way longer than that. . Every work day goes by so fast because the environment here is so fun, and I have gained a tremendous amount of experience working with all the AutoMate pros who are very committed to making the software better.

Title?

Software Developer

What's the best part of your job?

The best part of my job is to create new innovative actions that AutoMate users can make use of in their daily life. If you took a pen to paper and wrote down all the things that AutoMate could accomplish it would be never ending. It feels like I'm just on the first page of the actions list with a whole book yet to be finished!

Other than developing solutions, the second best thing is working with the other developers here at Network Automation. They inspire me every day with their vast amount of knowledge in the field of Programming and Windows Automation.

What's your biggest challenge?

My biggest challenge is to convert a suggestion of an AutoMate customer into a simple drag and drop action. This process goes through a very rigorous process including many stages of design, testing, and verification, but that's what makes it more robust and user-friendly in the final product.

Do you use AutoMate? If so what do you use it for?

Of course I use AutoMate! I have to. Every day when I compile the new actions plug-in it generates a DLL file. It also keeps track of where to put that file on my system. This helps with testing the new actions in the current AutoMate build. And then there are all my testing tasks for the new features of AutoMate BPA Server. In the last month, these tasks have identified a lot of issues and have made the new version more robust.

AutoMate BPA Server 7 is almost here, what one feature are you most excited about?

The most exciting feature in AutoMate BPA Server are the actions in the XML action group. When I developed this, I was completely aware of the doors I would be opening for the AutoMate community.

What do you like best about being a Developer?

The best thing about being a Developer is the thought process it takes to convert the real world scenario into a solution that can be understood by an Intelligent Machine.

What's something your coworkers don't know about you?

They don't know that I had a car accident during my DMV driving test. The funny thing is after the accident, the instructor was so afraid that she didn't even let me drive the car back to the DMV!

What's the best thing about working for Network Automation?bf2

The best thing about working for Network Automation is the work atmosphere and the exchange with my talented co-workers. The driving force among the employees is to create the best automation software. And, last but not least the "company sponsored bonding" otherwise known as BF2, as quoted by my colleague Brad.
