How long have you been with Network Automation?

I have been with Network Automation for almost 5 months.

Channel Sales Manager

What’s the best part of your job?

Getting comments like “Amazing!” and “Wow!” from our resellers and customers when they realize how powerful and complete the AutoMate products are.

What’s the biggest challenge?

The biggest challenge would be getting resellers and customers to realize the full capabilities and uses for AutoMate.

Do you use AutoMate?  If so, what do you use it for?

I use AutoMate daily to prepare proposals, send emails, add specific text to documents, run reports, do marketing campaigns, and retrieve information from our internal systems.

AutoMate BPA Server 7 has a lot of outstanding new features.  Which ones are you most excited to tell your customers about?

I love to tell my customers about the Workflow Designer and the System Management Console as they are my two favorite features in BPA Server 7. These features are powerful tools that can be used by small to large companies so they can easily create, automate, and manage processes that range from simple to highly complex.

What advice would you offer someone who is trying out AutoMate BPA Server 7 for the first time?

The very first thing I emphatically recommend is to visit our website and spend time at the User Resource Center (URC) where a wealth of knowledge and resources are available for first time users.

Walk us through a typical day for you…

I’ll tell you when I actually have one!  Because we have clients and resellers all over the world, I work in multi-time zones so I am often reading and responding to e-mails from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm almost 7 days a week.  So I don’t actually have “typical workdays” but that doesn’t prevent me from enjoying my job!

When you’re not hard at work, what are you usually doing during your free time?

My free time is usually consumed with spending time with my family and friends.  I also like to putter around the house fixing things, painting rooms, etc.  I like to be active and work with my hands when I’m at home because I’m usually sitting all day at work.

Where is your hometown?

Santa Clara, Cuba.  But I immigrated to the US in 1960, a year after Fidel Castro took power.  Since then I’ve lived in New York, but it was too cold for my Cuban body, so I moved out west to California in 1972.  I now live in Victorville, CA where it’s usually nice and warm.

Any traditions you continue from your childhood?

I grew up eating delicious and healthy foods in Cuba, so that’s something that I continue to do now.  I enjoy being surrounded by good friends and family and sitting down to a hearty meal of arroz con pollo and platanos maduros.

Tell us something your coworkers don’t know about you…

I am not as smart as they think that I am ;-) Just kidding.  But really, something my coworkers don’t know about me is that I don’t mind driving in traffic.  I know most people living in the Southern California area absolutely hate driving in traffic, but it gives me some time to listen to the news or NPR.  I honestly don’t mind it.

Do you have any big plans for the holidays?

Yes, to have as much fun as possible!  That’s actually the same big plan every year during the holidays.  We usually have large family gatherings where everyone gets together to eat, drink, and be merry.

Real Christmas tree or fake?

Fake.  They’re easier to clean up and they look just as nice!  Our tree at home is fake but looks and smells so real that people have to touch it to be sure that it really is fake!

When you retire you hope to…

Devote my time to being a volunteer for worthy causes.  I also would love to spend more time with my family.
