One of the largest players in the infrastructure virtualization and management arena is VMware. Their product is currently used by more than 250,000 customers, including a 100% adoption rate among Fortune 100 companies. One of the main reasons for this wide adoption is the drastic improvements to availability and utilization of IT resources. For the longest time, physical machines had a single purpose. One was your mail server. One was your database server.  And while this worked, the utilization of the machine was low. But with virtualization, you can have a single machine used by multiple, isolated virtual machines. This allows you to get the most out of your existing hardware, as well as providing redundancy and a means to easily scale.

In today’s how-to video we’ll learn how easily AutoMate integrates with and augments the functionality of VMware. In this example, I will show you multiple ways to automate VMware, such as, powering off all virtual machines, and transferring a file from a local machine to a virtual machine.
