Don't Let Your Job Get Automated

You may have been using AutoMate 7 or AutoMate BPA Server 7 for some time (or are considering doing so). Chances are you brought it in to solve a specific information technology (IT) issue. And it worked. With AutoMate, you are now out of the business of writing difficult scripts, or have automated high-value, complex FTP processes, or have evolved your ability to integrate disparate systems under tight, mission critical time-frames. But, business is not static, and your business is now using technology more than ever.  Automation is a hot buzzword. Why? What do you think of the relatively new notion of Business Technology (click on the link to read our recent white paper)?

As Information Technology professionals, we need to stay ahead of the curve. And the curve is relentless in its progress. You've heard the old business nightmare tales about the buggy-whip industry, and there are many similar examples of obsolescence. How can you (and we) stay ahead of the curve?

Questions of the future are ponderable, but often not fully answerable (beyond taxes and other certainties) with full clarity let alone accuracy. There are always the unknowns, the what-ifs and requisite consideration for nested optionality (if-then-else ad nauseum). There are, however,  inflection points caused by transcendent technologies like the Internet and the cloud and others. These inflection points are warning signals that we need to do things differently lest we allow the market to hardheartedly tell us that our automobile just does not need a whip, thank you very much.

How can you use AutoMate, or how are you already doing so, to address the growing critical mass of business = technology; or IT = BT.

We've put into 270 executable actions into our Action Library. How many are you using? Have you automated your user provisioning (.e.g. Active Directory, Exchange maintenance), your ability to respond to network problems (SNMP traps), your ability to fully deploy the power of Web Services (SOAP)? Or investigated how AutoMate can better help you to attack that IT backlog? If you have an IT backlog, perhaps you are not as automated as you otherwise could be. If your backlog is growing, this may be an indicator that there are many areas where automation can accelerate performance of IT and, therefore, business performance (since IT = BT). When you buy AutoMate you get access to ALL the actions. How many are you using?
