Donald Draper of Mad Men fame once made a pitch to a fictionalized Conrad “Connie” Hilton, the founder of Hilton Hotels. The idea was to support Hilton’s expansion plans for his American hotel chain to become an international one. In the video link above you can watch as Draper poses to Hilton: “How do you say "ice water" in Portuguese? <pause> Hilton…How do you say "hamburger" in Japanese? <pause> Hilton.”

This scene takes place in New York in the early 1960s. Now, fifty years later here in Los Angeles, we are pleased to announce that AutoMate has been internationalized to include six new languages in addition to English. Borrowing from self-styled genius adman, Draper, we present a slight twist to his pitch for Hilton International language support.

  • How do you say "FTP client automation" in simplified Chinese?          AutoMate
  • How do you say "scripting tools" in French?                                      AutoMate
  • How do you say "Excel automation" in Japanese?                             AutoMate
  • How do you say "email automation" in Portuguese?                           AutoMate
  • How do you say "database automation" in Spanish?                          AutoMate
  • How do you say "cloud automation" in traditional Chinese?                AutoMate

AutoMate has enjoyed international acceptance since its inception in 2004. At our last count, AutoMate is being used in 60 different countries to lower the cost of administration and usage of some of the world’s most popular IT technologies. AutoMate is also powering improved efficacy for key business processes. In fact, one of the world’s largest international banks uses AutoMate to generate 82 million marketing emails per day, across the globe, every day.

All without writing code.

Now our international customers will be able to develop automation tasks and workflows in their native language. AutoMate 9 and AutoMate BPA Server 9 will configure itself upon installation to the language specified for its Windows host. Simply, we’ve leveraged the Unicode compliance from AutoMate 8 released just this past year to deliver localized benefits. How did we do it?

Network Automation has long been an international company. Collectively, our staff speaks 16 languages and hales from 9 unique countries of origin. We’ve been distributing and supporting AutoMate internationally since the beginning. Plus our international partners have expressed strong desires to expand AutoMate’s acceptance in local businesses. We may be based in Los Angeles, but our commitment to our customers knows no borders. And, AutoMate 9’s seven languages is just a beginning. Subsequent releases will offer additional language support.

Given the chance, Don Draper just might say:

“AutoMate. It’s the same in every language.”
