New Version of Business Process Automation Software Lets Users Automate SharePoint Workflows

AutoMate and AutoMate BPA Server version 10.2 include exciting new features for SharePoint administration and automatic report generation for OpenDocument Spreadsheets.

Minneapolis, MN, April 23, 2015—AutoMate, a division of HelpSystems, today announced the release of AutoMate and AutoMate BPA Server 10.2. This new release introduces much anticipated features for enhanced report generation and SharePoint administration.

These enhancements follow the February 2015 release of AutoMate 10.1, which integrated AutoMate with another HelpSystems solution, Skybot Scheduler. Benjamin Korper of Korper ICT Services explains that “[the] integration with Skybot enables [AutoMate] customers to interact with non-Windows machines more easily, making AutoMate BPA Server a fantastic centralized orchestrator of cross-platform multi-machine automation.”

AutoMate version 10.2 brings users a new SharePoint trigger and updated actions that execute and manage a variety of SharePoint tasks. For example, AutoMate’s SharePoint actions can automatically upload and download files with the correct metadata and backup and archive SharePoint sites, libraries, and lists.

New OpenDocument spreadsheet actions in version 10.2 expand the ability to create, modify, or manipulate an Excel spreadsheet without Excel being installed on the system, which benefits customers using Office 365, in particular.  “This is great for generating reports in server environments where Excel is not always available,” Korper, who beta-tested the new version, notes.
