Overview

The AutoMate BPA Execution Calendar is a timetable format that supplies information about the results of previously executed workflows as well as ones that are scheduled to run in the future (with the use of a Schedule event). By default, the calendar's main viewing area is displayed in the month view (as shown below). However, the format is similar to MS Office Calendar's design, which enables you to quickly select a day, week, work week or custom time scale in which to view. The Day view supplies an hour-by-hour list of task events for the selected day. You can click on a particular run instance to view details and execution statistics about that event. Dates that are displayed in bold type indicate that there is at least one workflow item for that day. To view the calendar, from the SMC, select Calendar button from the Navigation pane.

Date Navigator

The Date Navigator is a mini calendar that appears in the left pane that lets you select the day, week or month you want to display. The current day is always enclosed in a red box. You can adjust the main viewing area of the calendar to show several consecutive days or weeks as well as non-consecutive days or weeks. If you drag across a range of dates in the mini calendar (up to a maximum of six weeks), that date range will be displayed in a format similar to Month view. The mini-calendar can also be scrolled back a month by clicking the left arrow button or forward a month by clicking the right arrow.

You can customize the Date Navigator to show more than the default two months in the Navigation Pane. To do this, rest the mouse pointer on the split bar to the right of the Date Navigator. The pointer will become a double arrow. Drag the double arrow cursor to the right until additional months are displayed.

View Buttons

The Calendar displays data using one of the standard views. These views define the time interval (for instance, the Day view displays only one or several days at a time), the user interface elements, and the control's behavior specific to the currently active view, displayed simultaneously. In general, the active view defines the appearance of the entire calendar.

Change between views by clicking the large Day, Week, and Month buttons near the top of the window pane. If you are in Week or Month view, clicking on the heading in a column (which displays the date) will switch you to the Day view for that date. The table below describe the available view types.

View

Description

Day

This view gives the most detailed view of data for a particular day/set of days.

Week

This view displays appointments for any given weekly period. The available options are:

  • Work Week: Displays data for the working days in a particular week.

  • Week: Displays data for the full 7 days in a particular week.

Month

This view positions the days one after another horizontally so that they form weeks, while weeks are placed one under another (similar to a monthly calendar).

Time Scale

This view plots data as horizontal bars along the time scales, and provides end-users with a clearer overview.

Status Filter

The Status filter allows you to dictate the type of events that should appear in the main viewing area.
