E-Mail Options

Description

The E-mail tab preferences define the default SMTP protocol and port to be used when AutoMate sends an e-mail on task error or when the parameter labeled Default server settings is enabled in the Advanced tab properties of the 'Send E-mail' action.

Parameters

Property

Description

Default mail server

The default user name that AutoMate should impersonate. This can be either a plain user name (i.e. sparky), or a username/domain combination (i.e. sparky@networkautomation.com). When the latter form is used, the domain field is disabled.

Default mail server port

The port to use for the default SMTP mail server. This is usually server port 25, but may be different on special network configurations, especially if behind a firewall.

Use authentication

If enabled (set to YES), AutoMate will attempt to logon to the SMTP mail server using the information provided below.

User name

The user name to be used to logon to the SMTP mail server and authenticate the mail transaction. This parameter is available only if the Use authentication parameter is enabled.

Password

The password to be used to logon to the SMTP mail server and authenticate the mail transaction. This parameter is available only if the Use authentication parameter is enabled.
