Automate Event Log

The AutoMate Event Log is a complete set reports that display the status and condition of tasks, triggers, system events and audited events. You can view various statistics such as whether a task ran successfully or failed, the date/time a task started and ended, the machine name where the task ran (helpful when deploying tasks to remote agents), when a task was created, deleted or updated and when the AutoMate Task Administrator was connected to or disconnected from the AutoMate service. If a task fails, the AutoMate Event Log can be used to determine the error that was generated. Additionally, you can export information from the AutoMate Event Log onto a .csv file.

Export Button

Clicking the Export button located at the bottom left corner of the AutoMate Event Log window will allow the current log to be exported to a CSV (Comma Separated Value) file. A CSV file is a specially formatted plain text file which stores spreadsheet or basic database-style information in a very simple format, with one record on each line, and each field within that record separated by a comma. It can be opened with a spreadsheet program (i.e. Microsoft Excel) with the data a;ready properly formatted. CSV files are often used as a simple way to transfer a large volume of spreadsheet or database information between programs, without worrying about special file types.

To export a specific table to a CSV file:

  1. Select the tab that corresponds to the desired table (i.e. Task Events, System Events or Audit Events tab).

  2. Set the available filter options to be included for that table.

  3. Click the Export button. A dialog titled Export to CSV appears (as shown below).

  1. Select the location and desired file name of the CSV file.

  2. Click the Save button.
