The recorder wizard is a Task Builder feature that allows you to automatically create a series of steps by recording mouse and keyboard events. The wizard records the actions exactly as you perform them. (If necessary, you may want to practice doing the steps smoothly before recording.) Once the task is recorded, you can also edit the steps as needed.
On the Task Builder Tools menu, click Recorder.
Follow the prompts of the wizard:
You can choose to have mouse movements recorded relative to the current front window or relative to the screen. If you choose relative to screen, AutoMate records the mouse movements strictly by screen position without regard to the results of the actions. If you record relative to current front window, the task will include wait actions or focus actions as appropriate for any windows involved in your actions.
You can set the steps to play back at the speed you record them or at a faster or slower speed. If you selected relative to current front window for you mouse actions, there is no need to use a speed slow enough to allow windows to open and focus because AutoMate will include wait and focus actions in the task.
Perform the steps you want to include and press CTRL+ALT+F12 when you are finished.
NOTE: Recorder functionality is not available on Windows Vista or higher operating systems.
