FTP Delete Action—Setting Properties

The FTP Delete action is used to delete files from an FTP server. The FTP Log On action must be used first to begin the FTP transaction and connect with the server.

To set FTP Delete properties

  1. From the Task Builder Available Actions pane, open the Internet\FTP folder and double-click the FTP Delete action or drag it into the Steps pane.

  2. In the Remote file box, enter the fully qualified UNIX path and file names for the files to be deleted, or click the Open Folder button and use the FTP browser to navigate to the file. You can use asterisk (*) and question mark (?) as wildcard characters. Separate multiple entries with a pipe symbol (|). Example: /sourcefoldername/filename.txt|/sourcefoldername/*.doc

  3. In the Session name box, enter the name of the FTP session. The name is set in the FTP Log On action.

  4. Click the Options tab.

  5. Select Include subfolders if you want to delete the specified files from the subfolders in the selected remote folder. If this is not selected, the files stored directly in the selected folder will be deleted and the subfolders will be ignored.

  6. In the Exclude mask box, enter the names of any files or folders you want to exclude from the deletion. You can use asterisk (*) and question mark (?) as wildcard characters. Separate multiple entries with a pipe symbol (|).

  7. To set the Description tab properties, refer to Description Tab Options.

  8. To set the Error Causes and On Error tab properties, refer to Step Error Handling.

  9. When finished, click OK to save settings and close the properties dialog window.
